Former World Cup Champion and Junior Cup Diabetes Ambassador, Christian Karembeu, explains why he supports the children participating in Junior Cup Diabetes!
Junior Cup Diabetes, established in 2007, is an annual football championship for boys and girls with Type 1 diabetes and encourages sports in a fun way. Out of 1134 registrations, 132 Children from Canada, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia and Switzerland, selected during the national qualifications, had the honour and pleasure of playing their favorite sport at the final tournament in Switzerland. The Junior Cup Diabetes, organised by Medtronic, world leader in medical technology for diabetes management, was enjoyed with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship by these young champions and their families. For many, this event was their first opportunity to meet so many children living in a similar situation and to share their experience of diabetes and sports.
